What a WACOM tablet is like on the inside!

These are pretty durable. But don't take them apart! I did it for you.

If you are having problems with your tablet, please try reinstalling its driver. Check for the latest version for your computer at the manufacturer's website. This is especially important if you have just acquired a tablet. The version of the driver that comes with it may already be old.

The technology is pretty simple and very little can go wrong with it.

The only mechanical wear they will receive is to the pen tips (they wear down), the pressure sensors (they get bludgeoned in if you draw with a heavy hand or knock the pen around), and the tablet surface.

The tablet itself is nearly bulletproof. I've been using the same one for about eight years. It's been apart a few times, not from necessity, just from my own curiosity!

Augh, I wish I could say the same. I've had hell with both my wacom tablets. Both of them have had cords that would short out. My first one lasted a few years before it started that, my current one has done it since the day I bought it to varying degrees.

This was really interesting, though. It's weird how simple it actually was.

I was totally thinking of mutilatingly dismembering my tablet to satisfy my curiosity on that subject.
Now that doesn't sound like a good idea at all xD

Thanks for the lecture. It was uh, educational.
